Leaving a Bequest
Your gift to Lighthouse Central Florida will help to promote the independence and success of children and adults living with sight impairment.
Leaving a bequest in your will or estate plan is a wonderful way to leave your legacy, honor or remember someone who has made a difference in your life, and make a more lasting and impactful contribution.
| Advantages to Making a Bequest: |
• Bequests do not reduce current assets. • Bequests can be easily modified or canceled at any time until death. • Bequests allow a donor to specify a dollar amount. • Bequests can be used in conjunction with other types of planned gifts. • Bequests may reduce estate taxes. |

Did You Know?
The charitable bequest affords a way for virtually anyone to express specific philanthropic wishes. In fact, the bequest is the most frequently utilized method to support charity in America. A bequest may take on a number of forms including naming:
• a specific dollar amount
• a percentage of the estate
• specific assets
While many may think philanthropy is reserved for a select few, the truth is that every bequest to Lighthouse Central Florida makes a mark that will last in perpetuity!
Let Us Know
We hope you'll tell us when you have named Lighthouse Central Florida in your will, but this decision is for you and your family to decide. Lighthouse Central Florida appreciates the opportunity to know in advance so we can recognize your generosity, accommodate your wishes, and use your gift to inspire others.
What’s Next
The philanthropic spirit is given a voice when wishes are expressed in the Will. If you plan to make a charitable gift by will or with a living trust, we encourage you to think about it carefully and include family members in the decision making process. Then, meet with your attorney to arrange an update to your will. Explain exactly what you want to do. Be as clear as possible in describing what you want given to whom. For example: "I give and bequeath to Lighthouse Central Florida, Orlando, Florida $_____ or percent (___%) of my net residuary estate after the payment of all my debts and taxes for the use and benefit of the Children’s Early Intervention Program."
