2010 Puttin' on the Ritz

Gala ball room with Tables filled of guests conversing and waiting for dinnerDon’t miss out!  The 4th annual Puttin’ on the Ritz Gala is to be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes. Reserve your seats now before it is sold out!

An evening of celebration and fun, including great silent and live auction items, gourmet food, and exciting entertainment featuring David Crohan, one of the most versatile pianists performing today.  His performances have aroused admiration all over the United States in audiences which have included such distinguished people as President and Hilary Clinton, Walter Cronkite, Lady Bird Johnson, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Billy Joel and many others. In 1990, he was privileged to entertain Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy on the occasion of her 100th birthday.  Blind from birth, David Crohan's musical talent announced itself early when he began, at age three, to play popular tunes he heard.

Lighthouse Central Florida hosts the annual Puttin’ on the Ritz gala to help raise funds for the essential vision rehabilitation services we provide for children and adults of Central Florida that have been diagnosed with blindness or sight impairment.

A distinguishing American value is our belief in the intrinsic worthiness of every individual. This is evidenced by our nation’s commitment to and investment in the potential of our people, through an extensive array of educational, vocational and rehabilitative programs. At Lighthouse Central Florida, we believe all individuals who are impacted by vision loss can expect to live independent and productive lives.  Vision loss should not deprive any person from reaching one’s full potential.  With hard work and effort, even people with severe sight impairment should expect to be fully employed and active in their communities.

The Community Visionary Award is presented to outstanding individuals who, through their contributions to Central Florida serve as examples of these values.  In this spirit, Lighthouse Central Florida is delighted to recognize and honor The Honorable Carl T. Langford, Mayor Emeritus of Orlando as our Community Visionary Honoree.
Please join us for this fun and exciting evening!
