Cosplay Dress Up for HalloweenWith the coming of Halloween in a week, it’s time for a special post. Last month, Sci-Fi Channel ended the first season of a show known as Heroes of Cosplay, which takes a look into a group of cosplayers’ (costume player) ways of putting amazing cosplay for competition at certain conventions, including Orlando’s very own MegaCon. With such creations the group made up, like a Storm Trooper with a cyber punk look to Lydia from Beetlejuice the animated show, this series shows how people become creative day to day. As a convention goer myself, I dab in the cosplay art as well. How you may ask? Let’s see!

White Cane DayPresented by Division of Blind Services, Lighthouse of Central Florida, the National Federation of the Blind Greater Orlando Chapter, and Greater Orlando Council of the Blind, White Cane Day was celebrated this October with a gathering of people (both visually impaired and sighted) in Downtown Orlando to raise awareness of White Cane/Guide Dog Law. Participants walked the cross walks of Orange Avenue carrying signs, guiding blind-folded city officials and police officers and passing out information on this very important safety law.
