BOARD MEMBER ERIKA HIGGINS WINS $5,000 HONOR!

Erika Higgins, an Instructional Designer, serves on the board of Lighthouse as well as a member of our Fund Development committee. She was recently awarded a $5,000 gift from Bank of America for her commitment and service to the Central Florida community. Erika works with several non-profit organizations around Central Florida but chose to donate her gift to Lighthouse Central Florida.

The Bank of America award reads:

"To recognize and honor our associate volunteers for their significant contributions to the communities we serve. The Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Volunteer Service Award plays an important role in our broader efforts to encourage leadership and service through our signature philanthropic program.

Bank of America Community Volunteers continue to demonstrate passion for giving their time and expertise to local communities as underlined by more than 1 million volunteer hours donated in 2010. The Volunteer Service Award is an opportunity to recognize their outstanding efforts and impact.

Awardees will be publicly recognized in the fall at celebratory events in 45 markets across the US and London.

In recognition for her service and commitment, a $5,000 grant will be made to Lighthouse Central Florida."
